    SEE ALSO...

GGTase-IIβ Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GGTase-II beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GGTase-IIβ (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GGTase-II beta protein plays a crucial role in post-translational modification of Rab GTPases, which are essential for intracellular vesicle trafficking and membrane dynamics. Specifically, GGTase-II catalyzes the transfer of two 20-carbon geranylgeranyl groups from geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate to C-terminal cysteine residues of Rab proteins, a modification vital for proper localization and function within the cell. This geranylgeranylation is important for activation of Rab proteins and interaction with effector proteins that mediate various cellular processes, including endocytosis and exocytosis. Proper functioning of Rab GTPases is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and facilitating communication between different cellular compartments, making GGTase-II a significant player in cellular signaling pathways.
