SEE ALSO...

GGPS1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GGPS1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GGPS1 antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GGPS1, or geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase 1, is a crucial enzyme in the biosynthesis of isoprenoids, specifically responsible for the production of geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP), which serves as a vital precursor for the post-translational modification of proteins through geranylgeranylation. This modification is essential for the proper localization and function of numerous proteins, including small GTPases, which play significant roles in cell signaling, growth, and differentiation. GGPS1 is predominantly expressed in the testis, heart, and skeletal muscle, and localizes to the cytoplasm, where GGPS1 catalyzes the condensation of farnesyl diphosphate with isopentenyl diphosphate to yield GGPP. The enzyme′s oligomeric structure and the presence of conserved amino acid motifs, along with potential N-glycosylation sites, underscore GGPS1′s importance in maintaining cellular functions and regulating pathways critical for development and metabolism.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with GGPS1 (B-2): sc-271679 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
