Does this antibody(GFP Antibody (1A5)) works for venus? If not, do you have any idea which GFP antibody here can recognize Venus?

Asked by: Liu M
Thank you for your question. Please contact our Technical Service Department with the specific protein sequence for Venus, and we can perform sequence analysis of our GFP antibody antigens to see if any of them may also detect this protein. We do not have any data or citations for this GFP antibody specifically mentioning reactivity with Venus.

Could you tell me which regions or amino acid of the GFP protein is targeted by this antibody?

Asked by: jfoul78
Thank you for your question. GFP Antibody (1A5) is a rat monoclonal raised against recombinant GFP. Unfortunately, the exact sequence used as an immunogen is not known, nor is the epitope recognized by this specific clone. We do offer a broad variety of GFP antibodies where this information is available. For example, our GFP Antibody (C-2): sc-390394 is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 167-182 within an internal region of GFP of Aequorea victoria origin. Please contact our Technical Service Department for help in choosing the best antibody for your research needs. Please call us toll-free at (800) 457-3801 option 2, email [email protected], or use our live chat.

I would like to use GFP Antibody (1A5): sc-101536 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-101536 is not available directly conjugated, but we have an alternative GFP antibody (sc-9996) that is available conjugated to HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing [email protected], or using the Live Chat function on our website.

I am looking for a GFP antibody that was raised against the amino acid sequence 215-230 (RDHMVL LEFVTAAGIT). Do you have any antibody like this? Thanks!

Asked by: Anette
Thank you for your question. Most of our GFP antibodies were raised against full length recombinant GFP, which includes this portion of the sequence that you have specified. However, the exact epitope recognized by each monoclonal antibody has not been determined. If you would be interested in testing a complimentary sample size of our mouse monoclonal antibody, GFP (B-2): sc-9996, to see if it would work for your purposes, please contact our Technical Service Department. Please call us directly at (800) 457-3801 option 2, email [email protected], or use our live chat.
