GCP2 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects GCP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GCP2 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GCP2, also known as Gamma-tubulin complex component 2, plays a crucial role in microtubule organization by localizing to the centrosome, where GCP2 is essential for microtubule nucleation. This process is vital for proper cell division and maintaining the structural integrity of the cytoskeleton, which in turn affects cellular shape, motility, and intracellular transport. GCP2 is part of the γ-Tubulin complex, which includes other associated proteins such as GCP3, GCP4, GCP5, and GCP6, each contributing distinct functions that ensure the complex operates effectively. The proper functioning of the γ-Tubulin complex is critical for the formation of microtubule organizing centers, and any disruption in this process can lead to severe cellular dysfunction and has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer. GCP2, a 902 amino acid protein, is ubiquitously expressed and can exist as soluble complexes in the cytoplasm, ready to be recruited to the centrosome as needed, highlighting GCP2′s dynamic role in cellular organization and function.
