SEE ALSO...

GC-C Antibody (537) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the GC-C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GC-C antibody (537) is available as a non-conjugated format. GC-C protein, also known as guanylate cyclase C, plays a crucial role in gastrointestinal physiology by acting as a receptor for heat-stable enterotoxins produced by certain pathogenic strains of E. coli, which can lead to severe secretory diarrhea. GC-C (537) antibody targets proteins located on the plasma membrane of intestinal epithelial cells, where GC-C is essential for mediating the effects of guanylin and uroguanylin, peptides that help regulate fluid and electrolyte balance in response to dietary salt intake. GC-C includes an extracellular domain that binds ligands, a single transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic region with a kinase-like domain and a catalytic domain, which is vital for function in cGMP signaling pathways. GC-C monoclonal antibody (537) recognizes proteins that promote cGMP accumulation upon ligand binding, significant for maintaining intestinal homeostasis and responding to pathological conditions.

How much protein do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using GC-C (537): sc-100302?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
