SEE ALSO...

Gastrin Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Gastrin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Gastrin antibody (B-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gastrin, primarily produced by mucosal cells in the gastric antrum and D cells of the pancreatic islets, plays a crucial role as a hormone that stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid (HCl) by the gastric mucosa, which is essential for digestion and maintaining an acidic environment in the stomach. The regulation of gastrin is tightly controlled, as elevated levels of HCl can inhibit gastrin formation, creating a feedback loop that is vital for digestive health. Additionally, gastrin stimulates smooth muscle contraction and enhances blood circulation and water secretion in both the stomach and intestine, further underscoring gastrin′s importance in gastrointestinal function. Notably, gastrin is implicated in pathological conditions, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, where pancreatic tumors lead to excessive gastrin secretion. The interaction of gastrin with other proteins, such as Gastrin-Releasing Peptide (GRP), highlights gastrin′s role in a broader network of gastrointestinal hormones, with GRP stimulating gastrin release and acting as an autocrine growth factor for specific cell types. Understanding gastrin dynamics and interactions is essential for elucidating gastrin′s functions in both health and disease. Gastrin maps to human chromosome 17q12, providing a genetic context for gastrin regulation and expression.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Gastrin (B-10): sc-28302?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
