Gasdermin Antibody (H-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects gasdermin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-gasdermin antibody (H-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Gasdermin, also referred to as GSDMA, GSDM, or FKSG9, is a 445 amino acid protein primarily localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm and is a member of the gasdermin family. Gasdermin plays a crucial role in the induction of apoptosis and has tumor-suppressive properties, particularly in gastric cancer cells. The gene encoding gasdermin is located on human chromosome 17, a region significant due to association with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1. p53 is essential for maintaining cellular genetic integrity, regulating cell fate decisions between DNA repair and apoptosis, while mutations or loss of p53 function can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and various cancers. BRCA1 is vital for DNA repair and is recognized as a major genetic factor in early-onset breast cancer, as well as in predispositions to ovarian, colon, prostate, and fallopian tube cancers.
