GAS41 Antibody (YEATB1A8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects GAS41 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. GAS41, or glioma amplified sequence 41, is an evolutionarily conserved eukaryotic protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in tumor biology. GAS41 is primarily located in the nucleoli of neuroblastoma cells, which is significant because the nucleolus is essential for ribosome biogenesis and cellular stress responses. GAS41′s presence in the nucleoli suggests involvement in regulating these critical functions, especially in cancer, where ribosome production can be dysregulated. Additionally, GAS41 interacts with key proteins such as the MLL fusion partner AF10 and INI1, both of which are implicated in chromosomal translocations associated with hematologic malignancies. GAS41 is mapped to human chromosome 12q15, and expression is notably highest in the human brain, highlighting potential importance in neurodevelopmental processes and glioma progression. With unique localization and interaction profile, GAS41 serves as a valuable target for research into tumorigenesis and the molecular mechanisms underlying various cancers.
