SEE ALSO...

GAPR-1 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects GAPR-1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GAPR-1, also known as Golgi-associated plant pathogenesis-related protein 1 or GLIPR2, is a 154 amino acid lipid anchor protein that belongs to the cysteine-rich secretory protein (CRISP) family, known for evolutionary conservation and potential roles in the innate immune system. GAPR-1 monoclonal antibody (B-5) recognizes GAPR-1, which exists as a homodimer and is predominantly expressed in lung and peripheral leukocytes, with lower levels found in liver and kidney. GAPR-1 contains a conserved sperm-coating protein (SCP) domain that enables binding to negatively charged lipids, suggesting involvement in critical cellular processes such as epithelial cell differentiation into mesenchymal cells. This function influences tissue remodeling and repair mechanisms, and increased GAPR-1 expression in kidney has been implicated in fibrosis development, highlighting potential roles in pathological conditions.
