SEE ALSO...

GAPDH Antibody (0411) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against recombinant glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) of human origin. GAPDH is a critical enzyme in glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, an essential step in carbohydrate metabolism that generates energy for the cell. While primarily located in the cytoplasm, GAPDH can translocate to the nucleus during apoptosis, where it participates in nuclear functions such as transcription activation, DNA replication, and DNA repair, underscoring its multifunctional role in cellular processes. GAPDH interacts with several significant proteins, including the β-amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease; Huntingtin, the mutated protein in Huntington′s disease, indicating a role in neurodegenerative disorders; and Siah1, an E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in apoptosis, highlighting its participation in cell death pathways. Additionally, GAPDH expression is upregulated in liver, lung, and prostate cancers, making these tissues suitable positive controls for GAPDH (0411) monoclonal antibody. anti-GAPDH antibody (0411) is reactive with human samples and is ideal for applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). With high specificity and affinity, GAPDH monoclonal antibody (0411) is an excellent tool for researchers investigating glycolytic pathways, nuclear functions of GAPDH, its interactions with disease-related proteins, and its role in cancer, thereby significantly advancing research in these critical areas.

Has anyone had successful results using this antibody for the detection of mouse GAPDH?

Asked by: DF60
Thank you for your question. This antibody is not recommended for detection of GAPDH of mouse or rat origin. We have several options of alternative GAPDH antibodies for mouse and rat. We recommend, sc-365062: GAPDH (G-9), which has published Western blot data in mouse and rat on our website. Plus, 40 citations each for mouse and rat.

I have a GAPDH antibody SC-20357 (lot# G1807). how old is it? what is the expiration time of your antibodies?

Asked by: Josee
Thank you for your question. This lot was released within the last few months. We do not characterize an expiration date for our antibodies. They can last for several years when stored properly at 4 degrees C (and never frozen). We do warranty our antibodies for one year from the date of purchase.
