gankyrin Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects gankyrin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Gankyrin plays a crucial role in regulating protein-protein interactions that are essential for cell cycle control and protein degradation, making gankyrin a significant factor in the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. Gankyrin is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus of cells, where gankyrin facilitates the assembly of multiprotein complexes that are vital for cellular functions. Gankyrin′s presence in these cellular compartments underscores gankyrin′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating the cell cycle, as aberrations in these processes can lead to tumorigenesis. Gankyrin contains six ankyrin repeat domains, which are critical for gankyrin′s interactions with key regulatory proteins such as retinoblastoma protein (Rb), cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (Cdk4), and the 26S proteasome. Notably, gankyrin′s interaction with MAGE-A4 has been shown to suppress anchorage-independent growth in cells that overexpress gankyrin, highlighting gankyrin′s potential as a target for immunotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma. anti-gankyrin antibody (G-2) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression and the therapeutic potential of targeting gankyrin in various malignancies.
