SEE ALSO...

Galectin-7 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects galectin-7 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-galectin-7 antibody (G-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Galectin-7, also known as LGALS7, plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in regulating apoptosis, which is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing tumorigenesis. Galectin-7 is predominantly expressed in stratified squamous epithelium and is activated by p53 while being repressed by retinoic acid. Galectin-7′s pro-apoptotic function is mediated through c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) activation and cytochrome c release, highlighting galectin-7′s importance in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis. LGALS7 is located on chromosome 19, and LGALS7′s interactions with other proteins can influence cell survival and death, making galectin-7 a significant target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.
