FXYD3 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FXYD3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FXYD3 (A-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FXYD3, a member of the FXYD family, plays a crucial role in maintaining sodium and potassium gradients across cell membranes, which is essential for processes such as renal sodium reabsorption, muscle contraction, and neuronal excitability. Structurally, FXYD3 is characterized as a single-span membrane protein that features a 35 amino acid signature domain, starting with the sequence PFXYD, and contains seven invariant and six conserved amino acids. This 67 amino acid protein may function as a chloride channel or a regulator of chloride channels, and FXYD3 is notably expressed in a subset of human breast tumors, indicating a potential role in cancer biology. FXYD3 has a putative 20 amino acid leader sequence and a transmembrane domain that includes two cysteine residues, which may be important for structural integrity and function. FXYD3 lacks consensus phosphorylation sites in its cytoplasmic domain, suggesting regulation may occur through alternative mechanisms.
