SEE ALSO...

Furin Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Furin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Furin (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Furin (FUR, PACE, PCSK3, SPC1, Kex2p) is a calcium-dependent serine endoprotease that plays a crucial role in processing latent precursor proteins into active forms, essential for numerous physiological processes. Located primarily in the trans-Golgi network, Furin is synthesized as an inactive zymogen, a mechanism preventing premature activation and potential protein degradation. This zymogen form contains an inactivating prosegment at its N-terminal, which remains associated until reaching the trans-Golgi network, where autocatalytic cleavage occurs, leading to prosegment release and Furin activation. Furin′s ability to cleave at paired basic amino acid processing sites is vital for activating several important proteins, including proparathyroid hormone and transforming growth factor beta 1 precursor, highlighting significance in cellular signaling and homeostasis.

I've bought the Furin antibody with fluorescence, and I wonder if I could use it for immunofluorescence in tissue samples. If that is so, where could I find a protcol? Thank you in advance,

Asked by: Nerea
Thank you for your question. Furin Antibody (B-6) is recommended for detection of Furin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. You can find our recommended protocol under this link: https://www.scbt.com/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
