FREM2 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FREM2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FREM2 (F-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, biotin, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FREM2 protein, also known as FRAS1 related extracellular matrix protein 2, is a 3,169 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein primarily located on the extracellular side of the cell membrane. This localization allows FREM2 to play a significant role in the extracellular matrix, which is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of tissues, particularly in the skin and renal epithelia. FREM2 is involved in epidermal adhesion events, which are vital for proper skin function and wound healing. Mutations in the gene encoding FREM2, located on human chromosome 13, can lead to Fraser syndrome, a multisystem malformation characterized by various developmental abnormalities, including ear defects and congenital heart issues. Additionally, FREM2 exists in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in cellular processes.

Does this antibody work well on mouse tissues - are there any background issues because it's a mouse antibody?

Asked by: Carole W
Thank you for your question. Anti-FREM2 Antibody (F-1) is recommended for detection of FREM2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. Issues with unspecific signals usually only occur in immunohistochemistry when sections still contain traces of blood.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of avian origin. Do you know if sc-376555: FREM2 (F-1) mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: TinTin
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.

This antibody works in my first trial on a tissue IF. Does this antibody has antigen for absorbing negative control?

Asked by: wwxxdd
Thank you for your question. This antibody was raised against a recombinant protein, not a short peptide sequence, so unfortunately it is not possible to design a blocking peptide for this product.
