    SEE ALSO...

FMO3 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects FMO3 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FMO3 antibody (C-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FMO3, a member of the flavin-containing monooxygenase family, plays a crucial role in the metabolism of xenobiotics and drugs by catalyzing the N-oxidation of soft nucleophiles, particularly secondary and tertiary amines. This enzymatic activity is vital for the detoxification of various compounds, thereby influencing drug efficacy and safety. FMO3 is predominantly located in the liver, where FMO3 facilitates the oxidative metabolism of numerous therapeutic agents, underscoring its importance in pharmacology and toxicology. Notably, defects in the FMO3 gene can lead to trimethylaminuria, a metabolic disorder characterized by the accumulation of trimethylamine, resulting in a distinctive fishy odor in bodily secretions. Genetic mutations in FMO3 disrupt the normal N-oxidation process, highlighting the enzyme′s critical role in maintaining metabolic homeostasis and the potential consequences of its dysfunction.
