FMIP Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FMIP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FMIP (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FMIP protein plays a crucial role in the differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, particularly in macrophage and granulocyte lineage commitment. FMIP protein interacts with macrophage colony-stimulating factor receptor, c-Fms, and participates in signaling pathways that determine whether bipotential progenitor cells mature into macrophages or granulocytes. Transient binding of FMIP to M-CSF-activated c-Fms leads to FMIP phosphorylation, essential for FMIP-c-Fms complex dissociation. This dynamic interaction remains critical because FMIP levels can influence myeloid progenitor cell fate; low levels promote macrophage differentiation, while overexpression leads to granulocyte development preference.
