SEE ALSO...

FMIP Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FMIP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FMIP (H-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FMIP protein plays a crucial role in the differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells, particularly in macrophage and granulocyte lineage commitment. FMIP protein interacts with macrophage colony-stimulating factor receptor, c-Fms, and participates in signaling pathways that determine whether bipotential progenitor cells mature into macrophages or granulocytes. Transient binding of FMIP to M-CSF-activated c-Fms leads to FMIP phosphorylation, essential for FMIP-c-Fms complex dissociation. This dynamic interaction remains critical because FMIP levels can influence myeloid progenitor cell fate; low levels promote macrophage differentiation, while overexpression leads to granulocyte development preference. Understanding FMIP function and regulatory role in hematopoiesis helps elucidate mechanisms underlying immune responses and potential therapeutic targets in hematological disorders.
