    SEE ALSO...

Flightless I Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Flightless I in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Flightless I plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton, which is essential for various cellular functions including cell migration, division, and shape maintenance. Flightless I contains an Actin-binding domain that shares homology with the gelsolin family, indicating involvement in actin cytoskeletal rearrangements, which are vital for the dynamic changes that cells undergo during development and in response to external stimuli. Additionally, Flightless I features an N-terminal leucine-rich repeat domain that facilitates protein-protein interactions, further underscoring importance in cellular signaling pathways. Notably, Flightless I localizes predominantly to the nucleus, with subsequent translocation to the cytoplasm upon serum stimulation, highlighting regulatory role in cellular responses. The human FLI gene, located within the Smith-Magenis microdeletion region of chromosome 17 at 17p11.2, is associated with Smith-Magenis syndrome, a condition characterized by a range of developmental and behavioral issues, emphasizing the significance of Flightless I in both normal physiology and disease states. Anti-Flightless I antibody (B-6) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the intricate roles of this protein in cellular dynamics and biological processes.
