FLAD1 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FLAD1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FLAD1 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FLAD1 protein, also known as FAD1, FADS, PP591, or molybdenum cofactor biosynthesis protein-like, consists of 587 amino acids and features distinct functional domains; its N-terminus is part of the moaB/mog family, while the C-terminus belongs to the PAPS reductase family. FLAD1 plays a crucial role in converting riboflavin into flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD), a vital redox cofactor involved in numerous biological processes, including cellular respiration and energy production. FLAD1 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and requires magnesium as a cofactor for enzymatic activity. FLAD1 exists in five alternatively spliced isoforms, and FLAD1 gene is located on human chromosome 1, which spans 260 million base pairs and contains over 3,000 genes, accounting for nearly 8% of the human genome. Aberrations in chromosome 1 have been implicated in various cancers, such as head and neck cancer, malignant melanoma, and multiple myeloma, highlighting FLAD1′s potential clinical relevance in cancer research and therapy.
