Fibromodulin Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Fibromodulin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fibromodulin is a crucial member of the small leucine-rich proteoglycans (SLRPs) family, which plays a significant role in the organization of the extracellular matrix and interacts with transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta). Fibromodulin is primarily located in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues, including articular cartilage, tendons, and ligaments, where Fibromodulin is essential for maintaining tissue integrity and function. Fibromodulin influences collagen fibril spacing and thickness in these locations, thereby impacting the mechanical properties of the tissue. The human Fibromodulin gene, located on chromosome 1q32, encodes a 376 amino acid protein characterized by a central region of leucine-rich repeats flanked by disulfide-linked terminal domains. Anti-Fibromodulin antibody (A-6) enables researchers to gain insights into Fibromodulin′s role in various physiological and pathological processes, enhancing our understanding of connective tissue disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
