FEN-1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects FEN-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FEN-1 Antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FEN-1, also known as flap endonuclease, plays a crucial role in DNA replication and repair, specifically by cleaving the 5′ flap structure of DNA, which is essential for maintaining genome stability. FEN-1 is particularly important because of involvement in processing Okazaki fragments during DNA replication and excising damaged DNA during repair processes. Additionally, FEN-1 is highly homologous to yeast RAD2 protein, and FEN-1′s C-terminal region may interact with proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), facilitating function as an exonuclease in DNA replication. FEN-1′s ability to ensure accurate DNA replication and repair underscores significance in preventing genomic instability, which can lead to various diseases, including cancer.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with FEN-1 (B-4): sc-28355 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
