SEE ALSO...

FBP1 Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FBP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FBP1 (G-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FBP1 protein, also known as Far Upstream Element Binding Protein 1, plays a crucial role in regulating the expression of the c-Myc gene, which is essential for cell proliferation and growth. Specifically, FBP1 binds to the far upstream element (FUSE) of the c-Myc gene, facilitating transcription in undifferentiated cells. This interaction is vital because c-Myc is a key regulator of cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and cellular transformation, making FBP1 an important player in cellular growth and differentiation processes. FBP1 expression is significantly reduced upon cellular differentiation, highlighting its role as a growth-dependent regulator. Isolated from proliferating HL-60 cells, FBP1 is part of a family of single-stranded DNA-binding proteins that also includes FBP2 and FBP3, which share a conserved central DNA-binding domain and exhibit significant homology in their carboxyl-terminal activation domains.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271241 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
