FAT1 Antibody (FAT-1 3D7/1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects FAT1 in human species by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). FAT1 is a unique member of the Cadherin superfamily, playing a crucial role in regulating cell growth and planar polarity while acting as a tumor suppressor. FAT1 is primarily localized at the leading edge of lamellipodia, filopodia, and microspike tips, where FAT1 interacts directly with Ena/VASP proteins to modulate the actin polymerization complex, which is essential for maintaining cellular architecture and motility. The cytoplasmic domain of FAT1 can also recruit components of the actin polymerization machinery when targeted to mitochondrial outer leaflets, leading to ectopic actin polymerization.
