FAT1 Antibody (FAT-1 3D7/1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects FAT1 in human species by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). FAT1 is a unique member of the Cadherin superfamily, playing a crucial role in regulating cell growth and planar polarity while acting as a tumor suppressor. FAT1 is primarily localized at the leading edge of lamellipodia, filopodia, and microspike tips, where FAT1 interacts directly with Ena/VASP proteins to modulate the actin polymerization complex, which is essential for maintaining cellular architecture and motility. The cytoplasmic domain of FAT1 can also recruit components of the actin polymerization machinery when targeted to mitochondrial outer leaflets, leading to ectopic actin polymerization. Notably, FAT1 expression significantly increases in vascular smooth muscle cells following arterial injury or growth factor stimulation, highlighting FAT1′s pivotal role in vascular remodeling by facilitating cell migration and limiting proliferation. Furthermore, FAT1 has been implicated in various psychiatric disorders, suggesting FAT1′s actions may have important pathophysiological implications. With its ability to provide insights into both normal cellular functions and disease mechanisms, anti-FAT1 antibody (FAT-1 3D7/1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell signaling and pathology.
