    SEE ALSO...

FAIM2 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FAIM2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FAIM2 Antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FAIM2, also known as Fas apoptotic inhibitory molecule 2, LFG (Protein lifeguard), TMBIM2 (Transmembrane BAX inhibitor motif-containing protein 2), and NMP35 (neural membrane protein 35), is a 316 amino acid multipass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in protecting cells from Fas-induced apoptosis, making FAIM2 vital for cellular survival in various physiological contexts. FAIM2 is predominantly expressed in the hippocampus, where FAIM2 contributes to neuronal health and function. FAIM2 features seven transmembrane domains and shares structural similarities with Bax Inhibitor-1, another key anti-apoptotic protein. Notably, overexpression of FAIM2 leads to decreased caspase activation and reduced programmed cell death, highlighting FAIM2′s importance in regulating apoptosis specifically through binding to the FAS receptor, while FAIM2 does not confer protection against apoptosis mediated by TNF-α signaling. FAIM2′s unique properties and interactions make FAIM2 an essential target for research into apoptosis and neuroprotection.
