Factor VIII Antibody (R8B12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to recognize the A2 domain of human Factor VIII. Factor VIII, also known as Factor 8, F8, coagulation factor VIII, or FVIII, is a complex glycoprotein composed of multiple domains (A1, A2, B, A3, C1, and C2) that play crucial roles in the blood coagulation cascade, specifically in the intrinsic pathway where it acts as a cofactor for Factor IXa in the activation of Factor X to Factor Xa. The intricate structure of Factor VIII, including its heavy and light chains, is essential for stability, interaction with other coagulation factors, and binding to von Willebrand factor (VWF), which protects from rapid degradation in the bloodstream. The A2 domain, targeted by Factor VIII (R8B12) monoclonal antibody, is pivotal for Factor VIII′s interaction with Factor IXa, and any structural alterations in this domain can impair function, leading to hemophilia A, a severe hereditary bleeding disorder. Anti-Factor VIII antibody (R8B12) effectively detects Factor VIII from mouse, rat, and human origins through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP), demonstrating broad utility in various research applications. By specifically binding to the A2 domain, Factor VIII (R8B12) antibody facilitates detailed studies on structural integrity and functional dynamics of Factor VIII, enabling researchers to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying coagulation and the impact of mutations that cause hemophilia A. Additionally, understanding Factor VIII′s structure through Factor VIII monoclonal antibody (R8B12) aids in developing targeted therapies and improving diagnostic assays, ultimately contributing to better management and treatment of coagulation disorders. Overall, anti-Factor VIII antibody (R8B12) provides researchers and clinicians with a robust means to investigate essential structural and functional aspects of Factor VIII, advancing the understanding and treatment of critical coagulation disorders.
