Factor H Antibody (C18/3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Factor H protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Factor H (C18/3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Factor H protein plays a crucial role in regulating the alternative complement pathway, which is essential for the immune response and maintaining homeostasis. Factor H is a serum glycoprotein composed of 1213 amino acids, organized into 20 short consensus repeats (SCRs) that facilitate diverse functions, including acting as a cofactor for Factor I in the inactivation of C3b. Factor H interacts with cellular integrin receptors and glycosaminoglycans, highlighting importance beyond the complement system. Deficiencies in Factor H are linked to acute renal diseases, underscoring significance in both immune regulation and disease pathology.
