    SEE ALSO...

Factor B Antibody (9B6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Factor B in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Factor B plays a crucial role in the alternative pathway of the complement system, where Factor D cleaves Factor B into two fragments, Ba and Bb. The Bb fragment combines with complement Factor 3b to form the C3 or C5 convertase, which is essential for amplifying the complement response. This process is vital for the differentiation and proliferation of preactivated B lymphocytes, as well as for the lysis of erythrocytes and stimulation of lymphocyte blastogenesis. Ba serves an important regulatory function by inhibiting the proliferation of preactivated B lymphocytes, thereby maintaining immune homeostasis. The intricate balance of these interactions underscores Factor B′s importance in immune responses and potential implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and infections. Factor B (9B6) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers exploring the complexities of the complement system and its role in human health and disease.

I am using Factor B (9B6): sc-57506 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
