    SEE ALSO...

F-Spondin Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects F-Spondin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). F-Spondin (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. F-Spondin, also known as Spondin-1 or vascular smooth muscle growth-promoting factor, is a crucial member of the Thrombospondin type 1 class molecules, functioning as a secreted, extracellular matrix-attached protein. F-Spondin plays a vital role in the nervous system by influencing axonal trajectories; promoting the adhesion and outgrowth of commissural axons while inhibiting the outgrowth of motor axons, which is essential for proper neural development and repair. F-Spondin contains two conserved domains at the amino terminus, FS1 and FS2, which share homology with Reelin and Mindin, and features either six or four thrombospondin repeats at the carboxyl terminus, characteristic of class 2 thrombospondin repeats. F-Spondin gene expression is primarily localized in the nervous system, particularly in the embryonic floor plate and the hippocampus, suggesting involvement in critical processes such as axonal regeneration following nerve injury and in various inflammatory responses within the nervous system.
