SEE ALSO...

Ezrin Antibody (4A5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ezrin in mouse, rat, human, and rabbit samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Ezrin antibody (4A5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ezrin plays a crucial role in cellular structure and signaling, acting as a key link between the cytoskeleton and the plasma membrane. Ezrin is primarily located just beneath the plasma membrane, where Ezrin facilitates the organization of actin filaments and the formation of membrane protrusions, which are essential for processes such as cell migration, adhesion, and shape maintenance. Additionally, Ezrin is a significant substrate for various protein-tyrosine kinases, including the epidermal growth factor receptor, and functions as an anchoring protein for cAMP-dependent protein kinase, known as AKAP78. The distinct phosphorylation patterns of Ezrin, along with homologs Moesin and Radixin, highlight unique regulatory roles in different cellular contexts, making Ezrin a vital protein for understanding cell signaling and structural integrity.

I am using Ezrin (4A5): sc-32759 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall very good for western blotThis antibody is great for western blot analysis and shows a specific band in mouse cerebellar extracts. When staining mixed primary cerebellar cultures there is no specific staining. The staining appears similar to background seen in the system and therefore appears not to be suitable for primary cerebellar staining. There was no obvious detection in cerebellar Purkinje neurons.
