EXOSC9 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EXOSC9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EXOSC9 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EXOSC9, also known as exosome component 9, plays a crucial role in the exosome complex, which is essential for degrading unstable mRNAs, particularly those containing AU-rich elements in their untranslated regions. This process maintains cellular homeostasis and regulates gene expression by preventing potentially harmful mRNA accumulation. EXOSC9 functions in both nucleus and cytoplasm as a ribonuclease facilitating mRNA decay without contributing to exosome complex stability. EXOSC9 can act independently of the exosome, demonstrating dual functionality in cellular processes. EXOSC9 undergoes proteolytic cleavage during apoptosis and has been linked to autoimmune diseases like myositis and scleroderma. Four isoforms of EXOSC9 exist due to alternative splicing, contributing to diverse functional roles in cellular regulation.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with EXOSC9 (D-6): sc-271815 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
