SEE ALSO...

EVC Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EVC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-EVC antibody (H-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EVC protein, associated with Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, plays a crucial role in the hedgehog signaling pathway, which is essential for proper embryonic development and tissue patterning. EVC protein is primarily located in the intracellular space, particularly in developing ribs, heart, kidney, and lung tissues, where EVC protein contributes to the normal formation of facial structures, limbs, teeth, and nails. Mutations in the EVC gene can disrupt these processes, leading to significant developmental disorders such as short-limb dwarfism, ectodermal dysplasia, and various cardiac anomalies, including irregularities in atrioventricular septum development. Furthermore, the EVC gene has been linked to Weyers acrodental dysostosis, an autosomal dominant condition characterized by distinct facial abnormalities and limb defects, underscoring the importance of EVC in both skeletal and organ development.
