SEE ALSO...

Ero1-Lα Antibody (YW-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ero1-Lα in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ero1-Lα antibody (YW-8) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. Ero1-Lα, also known as endoplasmic oxidoreductin-1-like or oxidoreductin-1-Lα, plays a critical role as an oxidoreductase in the endoplasmic reticulum, where Ero1-Lα facilitates the formation of disulfide bonds in proteins, a vital process for proper protein folding and function. Ero1-Lα is particularly important for the maturation of immunoglobulins, which are essential components of the immune response. Ero1-Lα interacts with protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) to generate disulfide bonds, thereby ensuring that proteins achieve their correct three-dimensional structures. Additionally, Ero1-Lα is involved in the regulation of adiponectin secretion from adipose tissue, influencing metabolic processes, and Ero1-Lα modulates the activities of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma and SIRT1, which are crucial for metabolic homeostasis. Ero1-Lα expression is stimulated under hypoxic conditions, indicating regulation by the hypoxia-inducible transcription factor pathway, and Ero1-Lα is found at low levels throughout various tissues, with significantly higher expression in the upper digestive tract and esophagus. Ero1-Lα can function both as a monomer and as a homodimer, adding to functional versatility in cellular processes.

Can sc-100805: Ero1-Lα (YW-8) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100805: Ero1-Lα (YW-8) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
