ERH Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ERH in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ERH antibody (H-8) recognizes enhancer of rudimentary homolog (ERH), a 104 amino acid transcriptional coregulator that is ubiquitously expressed and highly conserved across eukaryotic species. ERH plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle and pyrimidine biosynthesis, which are essential processes for cellular proliferation and metabolism. Notably, ERH functions by repressing the coactivator PCBD, thereby inhibiting its ability to enhance the activity of the tissue-specific transcription factor HNF-1 (hepatocyte nuclear factor-1). HNF-1 is vital for the regulation of genes involved in liver function, and the disruption of the HNF-1/DNA complex by ERH can significantly impact gene expression in hepatic tissues. The structure of ERH is characterized by a single domain comprising three alpha-helices and four beta-strands, with a long flexible loop that is highly conserved, indicating potential importance in functional dynamics. ERH contains two phosphorylation sites for casein kinase II, which may influence dimerization capability, further underscoring the intricate regulatory mechanisms governing activity.
