Anti-ERH antibody (H-8) recognizes enhancer of rudimentary homolog (ERH), a 104 amino acid transcriptional coregulator that is ubiquitously expressed and highly conserved across eukaryotic species. ERH plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle and pyrimidine biosynthesis, which are essential processes for cellular proliferation and metabolism. Notably, ERH functions by repressing the coactivator PCBD, thereby inhibiting its ability to enhance the activity of the tissue-specific transcription factor HNF-1 (hepatocyte nuclear factor-1).
