ERGIC-53 Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ERGIC-53 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERGIC-53, also known as LMAN1, plays a crucial role in intracellular transport of glycoproteins, specifically those with high mannose-type glycans, from the endoplasmic reticulum to the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment. ERGIC-53 is essential for proper sorting and recycling of glycoproteins and glycolipids, ensuring these molecules reach correct destinations within the cell. Notably, mutations or null expression of ERGIC-53 can lead to a rare autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by a combined deficiency of coagulation factors V and VIII, highlighting ERGIC-53′s importance in maintaining hemostasis. Anti-ERGIC-53 antibody (G-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying mechanisms of glycoprotein transport and implications of ERGIC-53 in various diseases.
