ERF Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ERF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERF (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ERF protein, also known as Ets-2 repressor factor, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly during the cell cycle′s G1 phase. ERF functions as a member of the Ets family of transcription factors, characterized by a highly conserved DNA-binding domain, which allows interaction with specific DNA sequences and modulates transcription. This regulation is vital for maintaining proper cellular functions, as ERF acts as a transcriptional repressor, suppressing Ets-induced transformation and ensuring genes involved in proliferation and differentiation are expressed at appropriate levels. ERF′s activity is influenced by post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation by mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), which can alter repressive capabilities and impact various growth factor signaling pathways. ERF′s ability to integrate signals from these pathways underscores its importance in cellular responses to external stimuli, making ERF a significant target for research in cancer and developmental biology.
