SEE ALSO...

ErbB-3 Antibody (RTJ.2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody raised against the cytoplasmic domain of human ErbB-3, a crucial member of the ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase family. ErbB-3 mouse monoclonal antibody (RTJ.2) recognizes an epitope within the cytoplasmic region and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting ErbB-3 in mouse, rat, bovine, porcine, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM) applications. Anti-ErbB-3 monoclonal antibody (RTJ.2) is available in non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for diverse experimental needs. ErbB-3, also known as FERLK, HER3, LCCS2, MDA-BF-1, VSCN1, erbB3-S, and ERBB3, maintains precise localization at the plasma membrane, where ErbB-3 orchestrates sophisticated cellular signaling networks. This strategic positioning enables ErbB-3 to respond to ligands like heregulin and form either homodimers or heterodimers with other family members, particularly ErbB-2 (HER2). These dimerization events trigger crucial downstream signaling cascades, notably the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) pathway, which regulates cell growth, survival, and differentiation. The clinical significance of ErbB-3 becomes particularly evident in cancer biology, where ErbB-3 overexpression frequently occurs in various carcinomas, including human mammary tumors. This dysregulation enhances oncogenic processes and contributes to therapeutic resistance. Through these diverse cellular functions, ErbB-3 (RTJ.2) antibody provides researchers with an invaluable tool for investigating cancer development mechanisms and advancing targeted therapeutic strategies.

Can ErbB-3 (RTJ.2): sc-415 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, ErbB-3 (RTJ.2): sc-415 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
