SEE ALSO...

Epsin 1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects epsin 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-epsin 1 antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Epsin 1 (EPN1) plays a crucial role in the endocytic process, particularly in forming Clathrin-coated vesicles, which are essential for membrane proteins and lipids internalization. EPN1 is primarily located at the leading edge of vesicular coated pits, where EPN1 facilitates membrane bending, a critical step in endocytosis. This localization ensures efficient uptake of extracellular materials and signaling molecules, thereby influencing cellular communication and nutrient absorption. EPN1 also interacts with key proteins such as Eps15 and Clathrin, and EPN1 function is regulated by post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can modulate activity during different cellular states, such as mitosis. Understanding EPN1 dynamics and interactions is essential for elucidating endocytosis mechanisms and implications in various physiological and pathological processes.

Can epsin 1 (C-11): sc-55556 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, epsin 1 (C-11): sc-55556 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for WBI got a sample Ab and worked for WB with 1:200 dil. Specific sharp band was obtained from this Ab compared to two other companies' Abs. Recognized endogenous protein, IP'd protein and recombinant protein as well. I bought a full vial. IP did not work well with this Ab but we just need to use more Abs than recommended. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for WBI got sample antibody just to test Tiam1 in HEK cells after over expression of two different cell surface receptors. This antibody is so specific. and I got a clear sharp band. I will be ordering this monoclonal antibody for my further experiments.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from goodIt's a sample gift from Santa, I tested it by IF in MDCK cells. We observed discrete dots at periphery of cells, however, there was a little unspecific staining of nucleus.
