SEE ALSO...

EphA7 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EphA7 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EphA7 (E-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EphA7 protein, also known as ephrin type-A receptor 7, plays a crucial role in the nervous system by mediating axonal guidance during development. EphA7 is primarily located in the cell membrane, where EphA7 interacts with its ligands, the ephrins, to facilitate the repulsive signaling necessary for directing growing axons to their appropriate targets. This interaction is vital for establishing correct neural connections, as EphA7 ensures that axons do not stray from their intended pathways, which is essential for proper brain and spinal cord development. EphA7 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in three different isoforms, including a full-length version and two truncated forms that lack kinase activity, which may have distinct roles in cellular signaling and development. Understanding EphA7 function and localization is important for elucidating contributions to neurodevelopmental processes and potential implications in neurological disorders.

epha7的分子量应该有100多,为什么此抗体的分子量只有35KD呢?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question. The Western blot data may not be representative of the endogenous molecular weight for EphA7. This is detected in a human EphA7 transfected 293T lysate. The observed molecular weight of EphA7 may be lower than the predicted molecular weight as a result of truncated variant of human EphA7. 感谢您的提问。官网蛋白免疫印迹的数据是检测的外源EphA7转染293T的过表达样本,并不能代表内源EphA7的分子量大小。
