SEE ALSO...

Enolase Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects enolase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Enolase is a crucial enzyme in the glycolytic pathway, facilitating the conversion of 2-phosphoglycerate to phosphoenolpyruvate, which is a key step in energy production. This process is vital for cellular metabolism, particularly in tissues with high energy demands, such as muscle and brain. The enzyme exists in three isoforms—α, β, and γ enolase—each with distinct tissue distribution and functional roles; for instance, α enolase is widely expressed across various tissues, while β enolase is predominantly found in muscle, and γ enolase is specific to nervous tissue. The presence of these isoforms as both homodimers and heterodimers adds complexity to their regulation and function. Anti-enolase antibody (D-8) has shown 67% homology with yeast enolase and 94% homology with rat nonneural enolase, highlighting its evolutionary conservation. Notably, α enolase is encoded by the same gene as tau-crystallin, a structural protein in the lens, linking metabolic processes with structural integrity in ocular tissues. This multifaceted role of enolase underscores its importance in both metabolic pathways and cellular function, making enolase (D-8) antibody an essential tool for researchers studying energy metabolism and related disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390163 P appropriate for?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
