SEE ALSO...

ENC1 Antibody (7a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ENC1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-ENC1 antibody (7a) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. ENC1, also known as Ectoderm-neural cortex protein 1, plays a crucial role in the differentiation of neural crest cells and the regulation of neuronal process formation, making ENC1 vital for proper neural development. This 589 amino acid actin-binding protein is localized to the nuclear matrix and is highly expressed in adult brain and spinal cord tissues, with expression being up-regulated during neuronal differentiation. ENC1 regulation involves the β-catenin/TCF pathway, highlighting significance in histogenesis. ENC1 interacts with hypophosphorylated retinoblastoma-associated protein (Rb) to form a complex essential for neuronal cell differentiation, which includes components such as CUL-3 and Rbx1. Structurally, ENC1 contains one BTB (POZ) domain and six Kelch repeats; the BTB domain facilitates protein-protein interactions necessary for cytoskeletal organization, while the Kelch repeats indicate a conserved tertiary structure. ENC1 is highly expressed in brain tumors, suggesting a potential role in carcinogenesis, which underscores the importance of studying ENC1 in both developmental biology and cancer research.
