    SEE ALSO...

Emerin Antibody (MANEM5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects emerin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-emerin antibody (MANEM5) recognizes a crucial component of the nuclear lamina, playing a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope and facilitating chromatin organization. Emerin′s proper localization to the nuclear membrane is vital for cellular function, helping anchor the nuclear lamina to the inner nuclear membrane, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular signaling pathways. Mutations in the gene encoding emerin can lead to the X-linked recessive disorder Emery-Dreyfuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD), which manifests as progressive muscle weakness, contractures, and cardiac issues. Emerin′s association with desmosomes and fasciae adherentes in cardiac tissue is particularly noteworthy, as this relationship may contribute to the conduction defects observed in EDMD patients. Emerin monoclonal antibody (MANEM5) enables researchers to investigate emerin′s role in cellular processes and implications in muscular dystrophies, enhancing understanding of this critical protein′s function in health and disease.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with emerin (MANEM5): sc-81553 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
