Eme1 Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Eme1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Eme1, essential meiotic endonuclease 1, plays a critical role in DNA repair and recombination processes, particularly during meiosis and mitosis. Eme1 is primarily localized in the nucleolus and is crucial for resolving DNA structures that arise during replication stress, such as collapsed replication forks. Eme1′s interaction with MUS81 forms a heterodimeric endonuclease complex vital for cleaving branched DNA structures, which helps maintain genomic stability. The MUS81-Eme1 complex is particularly important for processing synthetic Holliday junctions, thereby facilitating proper chromosome segregation during cell division.
