Elmo Antibody (G-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Elmo protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Elmo antibody (G-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Elmo protein, known for its role in engulfment and cell motility, is crucial for mediating cytoskeletal rearrangements during phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and facilitating cell motility. Specifically, Elmo proteins interact with other key proteins such as DOCK180 and Rac1, forming complexes essential for Rac1 activation, which influences cell spreading and neurite outgrowth in response to nerve growth factor. Elmo interaction with Src family kinases through tyrosine phosphorylation further modulates signaling pathways critical for cellular responses. Understanding Elmo protein function and interactions is vital for elucidating roles in cellular dynamics and implications in various physiological and pathological processes.
