Elk-1 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody designed to detect Elk-1, also known as ETS transcription factor ELK1 or SAP-2, across human, mouse, and rat species. Elk-1 is a pivotal member of the Ets family of transcription factors, characterized by its distinct ETS DNA-binding domain that facilitates binding to specific DNA motifs, particularly those containing the 5′-GGAA-3′ sequence. Anti-Elk-1 antibody (E-5) targets an internal region of Elk-1, specifically amino acids 161-320, ensuring precise recognition and binding to functional domains. The structural integrity of Elk-1 is crucial for regulating gene expression related to cell proliferation, differentiation, and response to extracellular signals, particularly through the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. Anti-Elk-1 antibody (E-5) effectively aids in elucidating Elk-1 localization and interaction within the nucleus, where transcriptional activity occurs. Elk-1′s ability to form complexes with other transcription factors and co-activators, such as CBP/p300, is essential for the modulation of immediate early genes, such as c-Fos, which are vital for various cellular processes including growth and oncogenesis. Elk-1 monoclonal antibody (E-5) is validated for multiple applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), providing versatile tools for researchers to investigate Elk-1′s structural and functional dynamics. Anti-Elk-1 antibody (E-5) facilitates a deeper understanding of Elk-1′s role in signaling pathways and implications in disease mechanisms, thereby supporting advancements in targeted therapeutic development and molecular biology research.
