Elf-1 (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Elf-1 protein in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Elf-1 antibody (C-4) is available unconjugated and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants. Ets-1 is the founding member of a gene family identified through homology to the v-Ets oncogene from E26 erythroblastosis virus. This family includes Ets-1, Ets-2, Erg-1-3, Elk-1, Elf-1, Elf-5, NERF, PU.1, PEA3, ERM, FEV, ER8l, Fli-1, TEL, Spi-B, ESE-1, ESE-3A, Net, ABT1, and ERF. Ets family members show diverse tissue expression patterns and share a conserved carboxy terminal domain containing a sequence similar to the SV40 large T antigen nuclear localization signal. This conserved domain enables Ets-1 DNA binding and likely facilitates DNA binding for all Ets family members. Elf-1 functions as a lymphoid-specific Ets family member that regulates gene expression during T cell activation. Elf-1 contains a motif similar to Rb-binding sites found in viral oncoproteins and binds to Rb′s pocket region both in vivo and in vitro.
