eIF4AI/II Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF4AI/II protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF4AI/II antibody (H-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF4AI/II protein plays a crucial role in translation initiation in eukaryotic cells, where eIF4AI/II functions as a key component of the eIF4F complex, essential for 80S ribosomal complex assembly. This complex binds to the 5′-cap of mRNA and facilitates 43S ribosomal preinitiation complex recruitment, ensuring efficient protein synthesis. eIF4AI/II interaction with other eukaryotic initiation factors, such as eIF4E and eIF4G, is vital for unwinding mRNA secondary structures, allowing proper ribosome association and translation initiation. Human eIF4AI (also known as DDX2A) consists of 406 amino acids and exhibits high homology (92.7%) with mouse eIF4AI, indicating conserved functional roles across species. Human eIF4A1 promoter region contains critical regulatory elements, including TATA and CAAT motifs, as well as consensus binding sites for transcription factors such as Sp1 and AP2, highlighting eIF4AI/II importance in gene expression regulation and cellular function.
