SEE ALSO...

eIF3η Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF3 eta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF3η antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF3 eta protein plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, functioning as a key component of the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex, which is the largest of the eIF complexes. This complex is essential for the assembly of the 40S ribosomal subunit, facilitating the recruitment of the initiator tRNA and mRNA, thereby promoting the formation of the pre-initiation complex. Proper functioning of eIF3 eta is vital for maintaining efficient protein synthesis, and dysregulation of this process can lead to various diseases, including cancer, where overexpression of eIF3 proteins has been linked to tumorigenesis. Using eIF3η (C-5) monoclonal antibody in research can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of translation initiation and its implications in cellular function and disease.

Can eIF3η (C-5): sc-137214 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, eIF3η (C-5): sc-137214 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
