eIF2β Antibody (P-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF2β of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-eIF2β antibody (P-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF2β plays a crucial role in the regulation of protein synthesis initiation in eukaryotic cells, functioning as a key component of the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 (eIF2) complex. This complex is essential for the recruitment of the ribosomal subunit to the mRNA, facilitating the translation process. The eIF2 complex is composed of three subunits: eIF2α, eIF2β, and eIF2γ, with eIF2β being vital for the stability and function of the entire complex. Notably, the phosphorylation of eIF2α, which occurs in response to various stress signals, leads to a decrease in the overall protein synthesis, allowing the cell to conserve resources and manage stress effectively. Understanding the dynamics of eIF2β and its interactions within the eIF2 complex is important for elucidating the mechanisms of translational control and its implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
