eIF2Bδ Antibody (P-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the eIF2B delta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-eIF2Bδ antibody (P-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The eIF2B delta protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, functioning as a part of the eukaryotic initiation factor 2B (eIF2B) complex, which is essential for the exchange of guanosine diphosphate (GDP) for guanosine triphosphate (GTP) on the eIF2 complex. This exchange is vital for the formation of the initiation complex that allows for the proper assembly of the ribosome and the commencement of translation. The eIF2B complex is composed of five subunits: eIF2Bα, eIF2Bβ, eIF2Bγ, eIF2Bδ, and eIF2Bε, with the eIF2Bε subunit exhibiting guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) activity. Notably, the presence of all five subunits enhances this GEF activity, highlighting the importance of the complete complex in regulating protein synthesis. Furthermore, the phosphorylation of eIF2 can inhibit the GEF activity of eIF2B, a process that is dependent on the eIF2Bα subunit, thereby linking cellular stress responses to the regulation of protein synthesis.

Thank you for your question. Yes, eIF2Bδ (P-6): sc-9981 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
