eIF1/1B Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF1/1B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF1/1B antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 1B (eIF1B) plays a significant role in regulating translation initiation, a critical process for protein synthesis in cells. While eIF1B shares 92% identity at the amino acid level with eIF1, specific functions remain less understood. eIF1B may assist in assembling the ribosomal preinitiation complex, essential for accurate start codon recognition during translation. This function proves vital since translation initiation is a key regulatory step determining protein synthesis efficiency and fidelity, impacting cellular function and response to environmental signals. eIF1B′s interaction with other initiation factors, such as eIF1 and eIF1A, suggests a collaborative role in ensuring correct ribosomal translation initiation, thereby influencing overall protein production and cellular health.
